PRESIDENT – CHARLES (CHUCK) HOMER
For 50 plus year Chuck has been a practicing attorney in his hometown of Idaho Falls, Idaho. Chuck and his wife Marci purchased their Sun City West residence in 2006. Initially Chuck and Marci divided their time between Sun City West and Idaho Falls as Chuck began to wind down his law practice. The Community Fund goal is to provide a confidential financial safety net to Sun City West residents who are in dire need of financial help. Chuck is pleased to now be able to devote his time and efforts to help the Community Fund support our Sun City West friends and neighbors who need support from our generous community. Add:
VICE PRESIDENT – ARLENE PETERSON
Arlene and her husband retired to Sun City West in 2013. Both are involved in numerous clubs. Arlene joined the Community Fund Board in 2015 and has been active as previous President, previous Personal Needs Committee and currently Public Relations. She also volunteers for the St Mary’s Food Bank and Valley View Food Bank. Before retiring, she worked as a program director for the Senior Hub in Denver, a non-profit organization providing services to seniors.
VICE PRESIDENT – LINDA O’DONNELL
Linda and her husband moved to Phoenix from Upstate NY in 1978 and raised their family in Glendale, Arizona. Her first job in Arizona was actually working for the Del E. Webb Corporation in Phoenix. After moving to Sun City West in 2017, she decided to retire in 2022 after spending much of her career in the medical field. Wanting to continue her passion of helping people, she joined the Community Fund of Sun City West in 2023 and became a member of the Personal Needs Committee and participates on the Campaign Committee and the Community Relations Committee. She also volunteers for the R.H. Johnson Library, the Sun Cities Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society, and at her church.
ASSISTANT TREASURER – LINDA KOOYMAN
Linda retired to Sun City West following a long career in Human Resources and Finance. She helped The Community Fund as a temporary Treasurer from 2017-2019 providing day to day accounting transactions. In 2024 she returns as Assistant Treasurer to help The Community Fund again. She is an active golfer, a volunteer with the Easter Seals organization and belongs to several clubs.
SECRETARY – DALE HORNYAN-TOFTOY
Dale spent her entire career in education as a speech/language therapist in the public schools in Illinois. She was lucky enough to take an early retirement, she spent 10 years as a snowbird in Sun City West, joining several clubs and volunteering with Benevilla. When she joined the Community Fund of Sun City West in 2013 and became a member of the Personal Needs Committee she found satisfaction working with the adult population served by the Community Fund. She is proud to be involved with an organization where such a high percentage of the funds stay in the community to help individuals that qualify for financial assistance.
